Is Pokémon Smile free?

Please note:
- This app may not be optimized depending on the OS/device you are using.
- The app may not function as smoothly on certain devices.
- This is applicable only for the official versions of each OS. In addition, certain device models are not compatible, and cannot download this app. -
Can I play Pokémon Smile without connecting to the internet?
Connection to the internet is required when opening the app each time to obtain the privacy policies and the terms and conditions, as well as to confirm and update the app and transfer the game data. Connection to the internet will not be required for the gameplay itself.

Do I need a social media account to register for Pokémon Smile?
No social media account is required to use this app.

No, the game does not differ based on your device or OS. However, certain operations and displays may differ based on the device you use.

How do I catch Pokémon in Pokémon Smile?
Position your device so that you're facing the screen. Then, go to the Main Menu, tap the "Get Brushing!" button, and start brushing your teeth. By properly brushing your teeth, you can catch Pokémon by defeating their cavity-causing bacteria.

Where can I see the Pokémon I've captured?
You can look up the Pokémon you've captured by tapping the Pokédex button found in the Main Menu.

Where can I find and change the Pokémon Caps that I've obtained?
You can find and change your Pokémon Cap by tapping the Pokémon Cap button in the Main Menu.

How do I get new Pokémon Caps?
You can get new Pokémon Caps by brushing your teeth and capturing Pokémon every day.

Does wearing a Pokémon Cap affect my gameplay?
No, the Pokémon Cap is only a decorative item and does not affect your gameplay.

How do I get new stickers?
You can get new stickers by brushing your teeth and capturing Pokémon every day.

Does the type of the Pokémon I choose affect my gameplay?
No, the type of Pokémon you choose does not affect your gameplay.

Can I play using an electric toothbrush?
No, electric toothbrushes are not compatible with this game. Please use a manual toothbrush.

The newly added Pokémon in Ver.2.0.0 do not appear.
Keep brushing your teeth every day to catch all the Pokémon to complete the original Pokédex. Once completed, you will be able to encounter the newly added Pokémon.
Data and settings

Is it possible to set restrictions on this game so that my kids cannot play this game on their own?
To prevent overbrushing, once you tap the "Get Brushing!" button and start the game, you will not be able to play the game again for the next four hours. There are no restriction settings for any other features in the app.

Is it possible to set internet connection restrictions for this game?
There are no internet connection restriction settings within the game. Aside from obtaining the terms and conditions and privacy policies, confirming or updating the app when opening the app each time, and transfering game data, you do not need to be connected to the internet to play this game.

Are there any settings for notifications (for example, to turn them on or off)?
You can set notifications for up to three times per day in Pokémon Smile.
How to set up notifications:
1. Open Pokémon Smile.
2. Press and hold down the "Options" button in the Main Menu.
3. Tap the "Brushing Settings" button.
4. Set ON/OFF under "Notifications."
*Please note: You may also need to change the notification settings on your device. -
Can I transfer my save data to another device?
Yes. If you're using a v1.0.5 or later version of the app, you will need to generate a Transfer ID and Password and enter them into the Pokémon Smile app on your new device.
You will need:
- Your previous device
- Your new device
- A stable internet connection
Steps:
1. Open Pokémon Smile.
2. Tap the "Transfer Data” button on the bottom left of the screen.
3. Tap "Create Transfer ID and Password."
4. Read through the terms and conditions before pressing "I agree."
5. Receive your Transfer ID and Password. You can take a screenshot of the Transfer ID and Password or write it down.
6. Install Pokémon Smile on your new device and enter your Transfer ID and Password.
Please note:
- The Transfer ID and Password will be valid for 30 days once generated. Please use them within that time.
- Once the transfer is completed, you will not be able to play using the transferred save data on your previous device.
- Make sure you have a stable internet connection while completing the transfer.

Will my save data be deleted if I uninstall Pokémon Smile?
Yes, your save data will be deleted if you uninstall the app.
However, if you would like to keep your data while temporarily uninstalling the app, you can create a backup of your data by generating a Transfer ID and Password. By taking a screenshot of your Transfer ID and Password or writing them down, you can use that information to retrieve your data when you reinstall Pokémon Smile. Please note that the Transfer ID and Password will be valid for 30 days once generated, so please use them within that time.

Can I create multiple user profiles on one device?
Yes. A maximum of three profiles can be saved on one device.
How to create separate profiles on your device:
1. Open Pokémon Smile.
2. Press and hold down the "Options" button in the Main Menu.
3. Tap the "Change User" button.
4. Tap the "New User" button to create a new profile.
Please note: Multiple users cannot use the same Pokémon as their avatar on the same device. For example, Player 1 and Player 2 cannot both choose Pikachu as their avatar if they are playing on the same device. -
Can I delete a single profile in Pokémon Smile?
Yes, you can choose which profile you would like to delete.
How to delete a profile on your device:
1. Open Pokémon Smile.
2. Press and hold down the "Options" button in the Main Menu.
3. Tap the "Change User" button.
4. Tap the trash bin icon to delete the profile you want to delete.
Please note: You cannot restore a profile once it has been deleted, so make sure to proceed with caution. -
I've forgotten my Transfer ID and Password after I uninstalled Pokémon Smile. Is there any way to retrieve this information?
There is no way to retrieve your Transfer ID and Password once the app has been uninstalled. Please make sure to take a screenshot of your Transfer ID and Password or write it down before uninstalling the app.

I uninstalled the app and changed my device without generating a Transfer Code. Is there a way to restore my data from a previous device?
No. If a backup was not made before uninstalling, there is no way to retrieve the deleted data.

I received the pop-up message "You have exceeded the limit on the number of transfers per day. Transfer cannot be conducted." I can't transfer my data.
You can only use the Transfer Data function once per day. Please try again on the following day.

Can I recover deleted save data?
Please follow these steps to recover your save data.
1. Open the "Pokémon Smile" app.
2. Tap and hold the "Option" button on the "Main Menu" to open it.
3. Tap the "Recover" button at the bottom right of the page.
4. Select "Yes" -> "Recover".
*Before performing this action, please note that once the save data is restored, you can not undo it.
Please also note that after you delete save data, the "Recover" button will only appear in the option menu for the next five times you launch the application.
Troubleshooting

I cannot download Pokémon Smile.
Please check that your device is operating one of the following OS:
iOS
Any device with iOS version 11.0 or later
Android
Any device with Android OS version 6.0 or later
Please note that it may not be possible to download Pokémon Smile on systems other than those listed above.
We recommend using a Wi-Fi connection when downloading the app. -
The Pokémon Smile app won't start up.
This may be due to an operating system issue. Please check the following:
- What OS are you using?
Pokémon Smile may not be optimized or function properly depending on the OS/device you are using. There are cases where the app will not function properly even on devices using a standard OS. We cannot guarantee that this app will function on all potential devices.
- Have you engaged in any operations not recommended by the device manufacturer?
Pokémon Smile may not be optimized or function properly if it is used on a device that has been tampered with or altered against the manufacturer's guidelines.
- Do you have enough storage space on your device?
In addition to the space required to download the app itself, storage space is also needed to create a profile. If there is insufficient space, please free up your storage and try restarting the app.
- Is your RAM over capacity?
Your RAM may be overloaded if you have multiple apps running simultaneously. Please try closing all open apps before restarting Pokémon Smile.
If you still cannot start up the app after checking the above, please try restarting your device. -
The Pokémon Smile app shut down by itself.
This may be due to the operating system you are using. Please check the following:
- Is your RAM over capacity?
Your RAM may be overloaded if you have multiple apps running simultaneously. Please try closing all open apps before restarting Pokémon Smile.
If you still cannot start up the app after checking the above, please take a look at "The Pokémon Smile app won't start up." and submit an inquiry if the issue persists. -
My screen has frozen and I can't do anything.
Please try restarting the app as well as your device.

My brushing isn't reflected on the screen.
If you are using a transparent, colorless toothbrush or playing in a low light environment, the app may not be able to recognize your movements. Please use a colored toothbrush or play in a well-lit environment.

Will there be any limited-time events?
There are no limited-time events planned.

Can I cure cavities by using Pokémon Smile?
No. Pokémon Smile is not meant to prevent or cure cavities. It also does not guarantee that young children will develop better brushing habits, or that they will grow to like brushing their teeth.

Can kids play this game by themselves?
A parent or guardian should be present every time the app is used to avoid accidents.

Will additional Pokémon be added in the future?
No additional Pokémon are scheduled to be added.

Is video from the app recorded or used in any way?
The video is used only to detect the face of the user and the action of brushing. The video is not recorded and is not sent to any servers.

How are the photos that are taken through the app used?
The photos are used only for decorative purposes. Once you've finished decorating a photo, it will not be saved onto your device unless you choose to do so. Any unsaved photos are automatically deleted, and are not sent to or stored in any server.
